Introduction

The main purpose of the project is to illustrate and highlight the implementation and effectiveness of experimented writing-based teaching practices in the context of a home institution and classes taught there. The scope of the project will be definition of the research question, methods used, experimented practices, implementation of certain writing-based pedagogical practices and their specific modification to serve the purpose of the class content, teaching methods, and language learners’ needs, systematically analyzing evidence of learning and thinking, assessment of the effectiveness of practices through various indicators of student engagement in class work and writing exercises, and presenting data collected during the academic year of 2022–2023 from the classes taught at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG).
